BREAKING: Colorado extends statewide school closures through end of April

Colorado schools will remain closed at least through April 30.

Gov. Jared Polis made the announcement Wednesday. School closures are a key part of the social distancing strategy that officials hope will slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

Please note:

During the district closure, MHS wants learning to occur. To encourage this, we will be posting optional activities on Google Classroom.  Please also feel free to complete any missing assignments that you might have and submit those to your teacher.  AP and Concurrent Enrollment classes will continue; please be in touch with those teachers.  Red 2 classroom teachers will be reaching out to students during the closure; students with prep periods during Red 2 will be contacted by MHS staff as well.

Durante el cierre de las escuelas, la preparatoria Montrose High School quiere que el aprendizaje continue. Para fomentarlo estaremos publicando actividades/tareas opcionales en Google classroom. Por favor trabaje en todas las tareas atrasadas y entreguelas al maestro atravez de la tableta. Las clases avanzadas o de la Universidad continuaran avanzando, por favor mantengase en comunicacion con su maestro. El maestro que su hijo tiene en la segunda clase del dia rojo estaran en continua comunicacion con los estudiantes durante el cierre.

At this time, the April 18 scheduled date for Prom will be postponed. We will do our best to find a rescheduled date once the COVID-19 crisis calms down, and public health officials clear the holding of large public gatherings.

In response to recent developments with the COVID-19 situation state and nationwide, and under direction from the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), all spring sports practice and games and CHSAA sponsored activities are suspended through April 30th.  All coaches must adhere to this directive; there is no gray area on this matter.  You may view the notification here.



iPADS: Students, if you do not have access to a personal device at home (ie. a computer, laptop, tablet, etc.) please email our librarian Lori.Roberts@mcsd.org

 if you need to check out an iPad to continue your school work this semester. Ms. Lori will make arrangements to get you an iPad while following social distancing guidelines.
