Juniors

All juniors will be taking the Colorado State SAT on Tuesday, April 10.  At no cost, they may also take the essay portion of the SAT on the same day.  This is important for all students considering going to a college or university that requires the writing portion of a college admissions test.  Students who wish to take the optional essay must register for it in advance.  The essay registration window is January 16-31, 2018.  This will be the only opportunity for students who wish to add the essay to their April test.  Students may add the essay to their registration through their online College Board account or by calling the College Board.

In order to add the Essay, please follow these steps:

  1. Log-in to your College Board account
  2. Click on “My SAT”
  3. Confirm that “April 10, 2018 School Day SAT” appears on the screen.  If this does not appear, please log-out and log-in again.  If it still doesn’t appear, please see your counselor.
  4. Click “Change Registration”
  5. Click “Add the Essay to my registration”
  6. Click “Yes” to confirm
  7. You may remove the essay in this same manner with the same deadline

Please note the following: The SAT Essay is scored separately from the SAT.  A student’s score on the essay will not improve or reduce their score on the SAT.  The essay may be required by some colleges and universities.  To find out a particular school’s essay policies go to:  https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/college-essay-policies.

IMPORTANT: NEW HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM
MCSD Health Services will be using a new health information system to better manage student health information. CareDox is fully FERPA/HIPPA compliant to protect confidentiality. The attached letter is a parent engagement to provide you with further information on how we will be using CareDox and also a way to collect an up-todate email address.  At the beginning of August 2017 parents will receive an invite from CareDox to enroll their child and provide their health information. This new process will replace our previous paper “Health history” form that was required each year. Current and accurate student health information is vital to ensure the utmost safety and wellbeing of our students. Please make sure your child’s school has a current and valid email address. Parents who need assistance with enrolling their child in CareDox are encouraged to come in and seek help from the Health Tech at their child’s school at the time of registration in August.

All kids should feel safe here at MHS and in our community. If your child is involved in or witnesses any type of behavior that is hurtful or unsafe, we would like to know about it. Please report it to our office in person or give us a call at 249-6636. If you or your child do not feel comfortable reporting an incident in person, we offer an alternative option online through Sprigeo. Sprigeo gives our students, parents and school, another avenue for reporting behaviors that are hurtful and unsafe.

Click on the link below to use Sprigeo.
